Installed. Looks nice. Note the cushions that are now attached to the seat backs.
I found two Saab Sport seats earlier but they were in a bad shape (re-upholstered badly). A fellow Saab Club member Briitta promised to sew new covers for me. It took a while but the seats are finally done and I put them in the car already. Here’s some photos of the process and the outcome:
Starting point. Two not so nice Saab Sport seats.
A blue Sport seat I borrowed for reference.
Measurements.
I fixed and painted the frames. Some of the original springs were broken. I replaced them with V4 springs.
New Saab Sport seat cloth. Made of wool to original specs.
Cutting the fabric pieces.
Making the piping.
Sewing the head rest and the cushions.
A cushion from the other side.
Seat back.
Sport seats ready install.
Back view.
Installed. Looks nice. Note the cushions that are now attached to the seat backs.
I think I need to change the rest of the interior to Sport type also…
Bye bye old seats…
All in all I’m quite happy with the outcome and the Sport seats are much nicer to sit on than the basic models. Thanks to Briitta and Mikko for the work they put into the seats!

Hello!
Nice car you have. Good,work!
Where did you find the saab sport gray seat cloth?
I got a 1965 Saab sport that needs new cloth on the seats.
