I promised to do some welding on a V4. The corrosion was worse than it looked (as it always is) but we got it done. I have also been collecting parts to fix the fuel issues with the two-stroke. And I started to fix the Lockheed brake master cylinder of the Sport.
A few pics:
A nice looking Saab 96 V4 1974 I promised to fix.
Some patches and welding needed…
10 years apart.
New bigger diameter fuel line for the two stroke.
A replacement fuel tank painted.
SU fuel pumps ready to go.
I dug up some spare triple carburetors just in case there’s something wrong with the one in the car.
Taking apart the Lockheed brake master cylinder.
Parts
Cleaning the master cylinder. I’m beginning to think a parts washer might be worthwhile investment…
Wirebrushing some of the more stubborn deposits.
I used a whetstone to smooth out the gasket surfaces.
Honing the cylinder wall.
And some new paint.

Thanks Tommi!
I found a new master cylinder for my longnose, and now I am going to give the old one an overhaul using your pictures as inspiration.

Best two-stroke greetings,

Hi Georg,
sorry I couldn’t help you out with the new master cylinder. I asked around but there were none available.
