AJA-magazines – Saab marketing in the 1960s to 1994

I have been collecting the old Scan-Auto AJA customer magazines for many years. Especially the older ones from the sixties are hard to find. Especially since all the Scania truck enthusiasts want the same magazines!

But all in all I have managed to find a pretty good collection. The AJA magazine was setup by the Saab and Scania truck importer and dealership Scan-Auto. The magazines were sent to pretty much all Saab-owners as I was a kid. It didn’t really matter if you had a new or 20 year old Saab. All were seen as a marketing opportunity.

Here’s some of the nicer covers over the years (in no particular order):

Scan-Auto imported and sold both Saabs and Scania trucks. In 1969 a Saab-Scania co-op was established to start manufacturing Saabs in the Uusikaupunki factory in Finland. Hence the Saab-Scania logo in one magazine.

      Hi Andy,

      I don’t recall that there was a mention of X7. Probably a model for the Sweden or Norway and made in Sweden, since all Saabs sold in Finland were made in Uusikaupunki. I don’t think there was an X7 model on the Finnish market.

    Hi, does the issue number 2 1976 with the 99 GLE on the front cover, have any more photos inside of the car that you may be able to share? Regards
