I was googling the other day trying to find a copy of the Saab 99 spare parts catalog with the 1978 Turbo included (it’s not in all the spare parts catalogs). I seem to have misplaced my own copy… I didn’t find the 99 catalog, but there are a couple of sites that have pretty… Continue reading Saab service books and spare parts catalogues online

Saab Sport – needle bearings, regular and Sport heads
Last wednesday I went to pick up a few parts for the Saab Sport. I found a bunch of used and NOS parts, and spent a ton of money… The Sport parts are always more expensive than the regular stuff… But, as anyone who has owned a Sport knows – it’s a completely different car… Continue reading Saab Sport – needle bearings, regular and Sport heads
Lockheed brake master cylinder, V4 corrosion repair, two stroke fuel lines
Just a little update. I promised to do some welding on a V4. The corrosion was worse than it looked (as it always is) but we got it done. I have also been collecting parts to fix the fuel issues with the two-stroke. And I started to fix the Lockheed brake master cylinder of the… Continue reading Lockheed brake master cylinder, V4 corrosion repair, two stroke fuel lines
Saab Sport seats for the two stroke
I found two Saab Sport seats earlier but they were in a bad shape (re-upholstered badly). A fellow Saab Club member Briitta promised to sew new covers for me. It took a while but the seats are finally done and I put them in the car already. Here’s some photos of the process and the… Continue reading Saab Sport seats for the two stroke

Saab 96 Sport brake calipers – checking the condition
We decided to check out the condition of the original brake calipers for the Saab 96 Sport. I wanted to know if they can be restored or if I need to buy new ones on the Trollhättan visit next summer. The custom grease gun fitting was a big help in removing the pistons. We didn’t… Continue reading Saab 96 Sport brake calipers – checking the condition
Saab Club “fleamarket”
The Saab Club Of Finland organised a little parts market today and of course I went to visit. I wasn’t really going to spent any money (since my bank account already lightened quite a bit two weeks ago when I bought a couple of needful things for the Sport…). But – as these things go… Continue reading Saab Club “fleamarket”
Saab Sport a brief update
I have found some more info on the Saab Sport I picked up a few weeks back. The photos are from the 1000 Lakes Rally of 1966. The original owner and driver was Artturi Rafael Huhta (or “Rafu” Huhta as he was usually called). The co-driver is Bengt Lundqvist. Rafu worked for the Finnish Saab… Continue reading Saab Sport a brief update

Wood Steering Wheel Repair
The restoration of the 1964 Saab Sport has to wait for a while but I couldn’t help fixing the wood steering wheel. I really wanted to hang it on my living room wall but it had to be restored and polished before that. Here’s some photos of what I did:
