The Saab Club Of Finland organised a little parts market today and of course I went to visit. I wasn’t really going to spent any money (since my bank account already lightened quite a bit two weeks ago when I bought a couple of needful things for the Sport…). But – as these things go… Continue reading Saab Club “fleamarket”

Saab Sport a brief update
I have found some more info on the Saab Sport I picked up a few weeks back. The photos are from the 1000 Lakes Rally of 1966. The original owner and driver was Artturi Rafael Huhta (or “Rafu” Huhta as he was usually called). The co-driver is Bengt Lundqvist. Rafu worked for the Finnish Saab… Continue reading Saab Sport a brief update

Wood Steering Wheel Repair
The restoration of the 1964 Saab Sport has to wait for a while but I couldn’t help fixing the wood steering wheel. I really wanted to hang it on my living room wall but it had to be restored and polished before that. Here’s some photos of what I did:
IntSaab2012 – back home
The International Saab Club Meeting of 2012 is over and we returned home yesterday. The trip went very well and we had great fun at Spa. Thanks to Saab Club Belgium for organizing the meeting! There was some “extra programme” for us on the way back home. Simo Lampinen had arrived to the event with… Continue reading IntSaab2012 – back home
IntSaab2012 road trip – Spa, Belgium
We have arrived in Spa, Belgium! The drive from Odense through Germany was pretty un-eventful. The only noteworthy event was when a pigeon hit the car on the motorway, did a somersault, and continued flying on its merry way. …and we did manage to see a few Saabs also! We did a little detour to… Continue reading IntSaab2012 road trip – Spa, Belgium
IntSaab2012 road trip – Odense, Denmark
Here we are – in Odense, Denmark! Yesterday we boarded Silja Europa in Turku, Finland and it arrived today 6 am at Stockholm, Sweden. We pretty much took to the roads straight away, starting the 811 kilometer drive to Odense, Denmark. The drive went very well except for a little credit card trouble at a… Continue reading IntSaab2012 road trip – Odense, Denmark
Saab 96 1964 two stroke on the road video
It was a very nice sunny day today – a prefect day for taking the two-stroke for a little drive… Here’s some video:
The last police Saab 900 retires
I previously wrote about the very last Saab 900 that the Finnish police still has. Yesterday username “saamu” posted a link on the Saab Club Finland discussion board of a news article where it was stated that the very last 1993 model Saab 900 has finally retired from police service. What will happen to the… Continue reading The last police Saab 900 retires
Saab splash screen for TomTom navigator
My way old Navigon doesn’t have an up-to-date map of Europe. Buying a map update AND a memory expansion for the Navigon cost about the same as buying a new unit so I went for a new TomTom. And the screen is also about 3x bigger… And since it’s possible I just had to update… Continue reading Saab splash screen for TomTom navigator
