The wiper mechanism was in working order but needed some cleaning and new grease. I used best parts from three different units to get it as clean and rust free as possible.
The wiper mechanism was in working order but I took it completely apart and cleaned it anyway.
I used best parts from three different mechanism to get it as nice as possible. Also new grease on the motors and the cable.
I even had one NOS T-joint for the wiper shaft.
And the wiper mechanism installed.
Heater unit overhaul
The heater unit was a mess and some of the plastic parts were also damaged, so I took apart two different heater units and used the best parts from those also.
That’s one nasty looking heater unit…
Yep. Somebody lived there… The unit is easy enough to take apart. Just remove all the screws and drill out a few pop rivets.
Washing and sanitizing the components. I also made some new rubber seals.
I polished the water lines to make everything as nice as possible.
The heater motor was soda blasted and then repainted matt black. I also cut to shape and glued on some new foam insulation.

Nice work, I been doing it quite the same, but still lot of work to do… I enjoy you see it doing the proper way. NIce pictures and text.
Hi Tommi. Do you know why the heater box has the 2 square holes facing the engine, into which you have fitted 2 rubber plugs with 2 screws each?
If the 2 plugs are not fitted, what effect will it have on the heat in the cabin?
