I have finally realised a dream of mine… Until now I have rented a small garage space for my Saabs. It had no heating which pretty much meant that all projects were on hold during the winter (for about 4 to 5 months a year!). This fall I decided to fix that issue once and… Continue reading The winter is here…

Saab 96 1964 two stroke on the road video
It was a very nice sunny day today – a prefect day for taking the two-stroke for a little drive… Here’s some video:
A little luck goes a long way…
So, the 1964 got registered and I’ve been taking it for a some rides the past few days. There’s been a few hicups which were pretty much expected – it is after all an almost 50 year old car and last saw the open roads in 1976! But I did have one really annoying problem… Continue reading A little luck goes a long way…
Part 77. Saab 96 1964 on the road again…
The 1964 two stroke is finally on the road again for the first time since 1976! I got it inspected and registered today. The inspection itself was passed with flying colours, but there was a few hicups to sort before it:

I wasn’t really satisfied with the directional light mods I did earlier – so I did a few changes that I think work better and suit the car better (not that they are visible). I also installed the headlights. We also fitted some other pieces:
Part 72. Front directional lights
The directional lights in front were not in a good shape. The plastic body was ok but the lamp sockets had rusted useless. I thought about finding new replacements but then a couple extra Saab 900 side directional lights came my way… The lights in the shortnose and the OG are similar in shape but… Continue reading Part 72. Front directional lights
Part 71. Seats and stuff…
The seats and interior side panels were pretty much shot in my car. I have been able find only miscellaneous scraps from which I was going to assemble a new interior. But, before summer I got in touch with a fellow “saabsti” who said that he might have some interior bits and pieces, including some… Continue reading Part 71. Seats and stuff…
Part 70. More stuff painted
I have managed to paint some more stuff.
Part 69. Various pieces painted.
I have finally had sufficient time to start painting the various parts that didn’t get painted last year: So, as you see from the photos I will not have the bumpers chromed. There’s not much sense in it since they were in a really bad shape and required extensive welding and repairs. Making them fit… Continue reading Part 69. Various pieces painted.
