Filler time! It’s starting to look like the body will get it’s color this summer! I’ve sprayed the filler yesterday and today. I put on about six coats on the roof (to have plenty of the stuff to work with) and three on the sides depending on how uneven the surface looked. And two coats… Continue reading Part 46. Part 45. Prepare for paint still continued
Some brogress on the project: The left hand side rear fender coming along nicely. A “new” right hand side fender (Many thanks Eirik!) Only a little rust repair needed, otherwise a very good piece. For the past week I’ve been working on the roof: The rear part is pretty ok. But there’s quite a lot… Continue reading Part 45. Prepare for paint still continued
Part 44. Prepare for paint continued
The side panels are starting to look ok: I realised that we really need to do the final fitting of the doors and fenders before I spray the overcoat on the car. It will take some time, so I’m not all that confident that I will have time to spray the car this summer. We’ll… Continue reading Part 44. Prepare for paint continued
Part 43. Preparing for paint
Putty time! Putty on. Putty off. Putty on. Putty off. Putty on. Putty… Smoothing out the welded areas. Surface pitting here… I don’t know which is worst; sanding or welding…. At the moment I think it’s sanding. 🙂 – – – We are planning on getting the car on it’s wheels next weekend, so all… Continue reading Part 43. Preparing for paint
Part 42. Underside corrosion protection
The underside of the car is now ready for corrosion protection. Everything has been painted: A can of Dinitrol “Corrosion protection for vehicle underbody” and a suitable spraygun. I see Black! Part 41. Fixing the doors – continued
As you may remember I currently have two right hand side doors that should be made into one… The stroker door has had the skin removed and the green V4 door is going to donate one. But the sroker door also has some rust issues to deal with: So it is not just the matter… Continue reading Part 41. Fixing the doors – continued
Part 40. Body completed
All welding on the body is now done! The final pieces that went on: Stone guard on the left hand side. And the right. The two piece mounting bracket and the bottom half of the stone guard were practically corroded away, so they have been fabricated from sheet metal. The top section of the back… Continue reading Part 40. Body completed

Part 38. Original engine restored
During the winter the parts for the original motor of the car (the origial 1964 bullnose motor, not the longnose motor I’m actually going to use in the car) has been restored also. It looked so nice I decided to take more pictures than usual 🙂 Here goes:
Part 37. Cleaning the underside
Getting ready to clean and paint the underside of the car: Honestly. It is a lot safer than it looks 😉 (Yes it is properly supported and the center of gravity is actually on the roof side, so no danger of falling over). – – – – – – – – – – – –… Continue reading Part 37. Cleaning the underside
