Saab Works Finland built 19 full specs Saab 96 rally cars and 2 Saab 99 16 valve cars from 1970 onwards and brought home many international and scandinavian victories for… Continue reading www.saabworks.fi – Blue&White Saab rallycars

SAAB two stroke early 3cyl. racing enginecase mould on eBay
Such a great little story about some DIY tuning on the two strokes – I had to repost this here. Here’s a shortened version of an eBay ad selling some pretty rare stuff: “These moulds have been in the back for almost 40 years, for some, it’s kind of like uncovering some famous Mummy, others… Continue reading SAAB two stroke early 3cyl. racing enginecase mould on eBay
Part 73. Updates – mainly front lights

Oli’s 1963 Saab 96 project
Oli from Iceland sent me this photo of his 1963 Saab 96. The car is rusted but complete. Good luck with the project Oli!
João’s 1964 Saab 96 restoration
João from Portugal sent me these photos of his 1964 Saab 96 two stroke that he is restoring. Looks great so far – I think it will look spectacular when finished!

The seats and interior side panels were pretty much shot in my car. I have been able find only miscellaneous scraps from which I was going to assemble a new interior. But, before summer I got in touch with a fellow “saabsti” who said that he might have some interior bits and pieces, including some… Continue reading Part 71. Seats and stuff…
Part 70. More stuff painted
I have managed to paint some more stuff.
Part 69. Various pieces painted.
I have finally had sufficient time to start painting the various parts that didn’t get painted last year: So, as you see from the photos I will not have the bumpers chromed. There’s not much sense in it since they were in a really bad shape and required extensive welding and repairs. Making them fit… Continue reading Part 69. Various pieces painted.
