99T part 3 – Undercoat and paint removal

There we go - the car on rotisserie.

We got the 99 Turbo up on the rotisserie – time to start removing the undercoating and the paint. It’s going to take a while, but it has to be done. Some pictures: So – I think this step is going to take a few weeks to complete…

Saab 99T Part 3 – Engine removed

Time to wash the engine bay.

We got the engine removed from the car yesterday. Today I didn’t have that much time to work on it, but managed to get the engine bay washed to check the corrosion situation. I expected there to be quite a bit to weld, but it turned out to be in good condition.

Saab 99T part 2 – disassembly continued, headlight bezel repair

The dash is a bit of a pain to take apart compared to a Saab 96.

I have been continuing with the disassembly of the 1978 99 Turbo. It’s coming along well – no big problems so far. The rust situation is pretty much as I already suspected. There’s a lot to weld.
